OUR RECTOR

The Rev. Dr. Ramona Hayes began serving as Rector on April 1, 2025.

Meet her family: (left to right) Tim, her husband; Bryce and Nicole, son and brand new daughter-in-law; Mother Ramona; and daughter, Tristyn. The furry members of her family, Monster, a tuxedo cat, and Toby, a Shetland Sheepdog, sadly were not invited to the wedding and so are not pictured.

Mother Ramona was ordained a Lutheran minister in June 2011. Since moving to South Dakota in July 2011, she has served ELCA churches at Pollock/Herreid, Langford, and Flandreau. This is her first Epsicopal parish.  She received her MDiv from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus OH. She earned a Doctorate in Biblical Preaching from Luther Seminary in St Paul, MN. Her thesis tile is "Digital and Analog: Preaching in a Multi-Media World," (here is a link to the abstract if you're interested!).

A second career pastor, she brings a wealth of experiences to her ministry: everything from bookkeeping and office management, to over the road driving and driving a school bus, work with preschool and elementary children and directing the Christian education program at her home congregation. She was a Girl Scout leader and trainer, as well as a Cub Scout leader.

Mother Ramona loves to read, garden, and make crafts - especially beadwork and all things  Cricut. She plays guitar, sings, and performs in theatre. She and Tim love to cook together and traveling. They are both big Star Trek nerds, Disney and Lord of the Rings are big in their house also.

Just for fun, here's the first part of the introductory video she made when interviewing with St Paul's in February 2025.
